Self seeding lettuce?

I'm pretty sure this is some sort of lettuce that has appeared in my lawn!

Why won't it grow in the vegie patch like this?

Fantastic! maybe you could plant them back in the vege garden. They remind me of Fern Ave where that lettuce grows around the paths, maybe it does not like much water.
Maybe you have lettuce fairies in the bottom of your garden!

There are lettuce fairies here too - mostly in my sawdust paths. They can happily be transplanted .
