A SORREL STATE OF AFFAIRS

I was outside planting some more sorrel this afternoon when I thought of that old David Bowie song with a similar name. The tune kept going around in my head until I realised it was trying to tell me something. So I rewrote the lyrics a bit and I dedicate it to Roger, who, at times, calls himself a "vegetable widower"....
.......Sing along now everyone....

"Sorrel"

With your short brown hair and your eyes of blue

The only thing I ever got from you was sorrel

Sorrel

You acted funny trying to spend my money

You're out there playing your garden games of sorrel

Sorrel

You never do what you know you oughta

Something tells me you're a green thumb's daughter

Sorrel, sorrel Ahhhh, ah, ahhhh

I try to find her 'cause I can't resist her

I never knew just how much I'd miss her

Sorrel Sorrel

With your short brown hair and your eyes of blue

The only thing I ever got from you was sorrel

Sorrel Oh-oh-oh-ohOh-oh-oh, oh-oh

Cute, Kate! The kids at Open Garden have been begging for the return of the sorrel--they call them Lemon Leaves and they adore them!

We made potato and sorrel soup when we had it in the garden.Bob's Mum makes sorrel, potato and cream soup and adds chopped hard cooked egg at the end, it is very good.
