SUSTAINABLE HOUSE DAY

Sustainable House Day, 13 & 14 September 2008

10am to 4pm

$5 per person per house or $10 a family,
funds raised go towards running the event.

At various locations around Australia and New Zealand people are openning their homes to show what they have done to make them use less power, less water, have less embodied energy and produce less waste. Our friends have one open in Belair. Peter built it himself about 20 years ago before the word sustainable was in fashion and it is beautiful as well as energy efficient. Peter is a very innovative bloke so it is full of nifty, cheap, home-made ideas.

Thanks for this great link Kate. I would love to see them all. I notice the Eden Valley home has a huge veggie garden, watered from a dam and they sell their excess produce at a farmers market.
