Oxford is known as a university town but I would call it the town of bike riders.Same goes for Iffley. I have only ever seen more people riding bikes in Asia! The tiny front entrance of every house seems to display at least one and often several bikes.....every street is lined with people on bikes and the path by the river today was a constant stream of families on bikes. It is beautiful. There is not a weight problem in Oxford because of all the bike riding and Alex is going to fit right in as he loves to ride his bike everywhere.
Iffley, in autumn is the town of berries! Everywhere there are berries. I saw a man picking some blackberries but I hadn't realised the significance at the time so have no photo.
Iffley has some people who are into the whole local, food-growing, organic thing.....
Oxford and Iffley, in particular, are stunningly picturesque.....
Check out the rest of the photos that I have been updating daily......Oxford....

hello kate from the wednesday garden group! We've done the ritual looking up what Kate's been up to. Have only seen a selection of your photos due to slow download but all sounds fabulous. Gorgeous day here at ye olde eagle on the hill very hot day expected on friday. News... kathy has had a gorgeous haircut and I am looking forward to running away to sea with your husband and several other men so please dont worry about me at all!I loved doing deb's biodynamic course last sunday and have 500'd my whole garden and I am sure I can hear it saying thankyou. Lou's house painters have finally washed up their brushes and gone away so her house is stuningly beautiful kathy's garden on the other hand is a scene of total devastation but on the way to better things!Glenys is on her way back from the gully and actually has no plans to go anywhere at least for the next couple of days and brian did some weeding at the gully! Have a lovely time kate love all your news and beaufiful photography once it has downloaded! No garden group for the next couple of weeks due to school hols. Oo roo! x x
