20th ANNUAL SEEDSAVERS NETWORK CONFERENCE

I should have put this on before now, but here it is. There is a lot more information about the speakers and the conference sessions and if you would like me to email the details to you please let me know. One day I would love to go, but not this time.

20th Annual Seed Savers Network Conference

29th to 30th March 2008
Gulgong Showground, near Mudgee
hosted by Castlereagh Seed Savers

For the first time in its twenty-two year history the Annual Seed Savers Conference will be held in the Central West of NSW. The Permaculture Convergence is in Sydney the weekend before.
The Seed Savers Network collaborates with farmers, gardeners and educators to ensure the survival of traditional plants used for food, medicines and fibres and keeps this genetic material in the public domain. To date Seed Savers Network has involved 10 000 people Australia wide, redistributed over 8 000 traditional varieties and established seventy Local Seed Networks.
The host of the 20th Annual Seed Savers Conference is Castlereagh Seed Savers, which began in 2002 as Careflight Seed Network, but with the closure of Orange Careflight Base, the name had to change. It is conserving many local varieties, for example a shallot that has been grown in the Rylstone area for a hundred years.

Conference speakers include:
Jude Fanton co-founder Seed Savers Network
